ABOUT THE ARTIST

Colorado artist Becca L. Tabb is an abstract expressionist oil painter, writer, and archiver of memory. They are inspired by grief and climate. Their work blurs the viewer’s understanding of human and greater-than-human worlds to identify the reality of being human. They ask, what have I lost? What remains/sits between? How are grief, climate, and family connected? And primarily, how do we live with our realities, or ourselves? Their current projects are Memory is Sedimentary and Pet Portraits.

Becca received their B.A. in English from Bryn Mawr College and their M.F.A. in Creative Nonfiction from Colorado State University. In their MFA program, they developed an interdisciplenary practice between writing and oil painting.

Their writing has been featured in DARIA and Yellow Scene Magazine, and shown at Wolverine Farm Publick House, Gregory Allicar Museum of Art, and elsewhere. They live in Lafayette, CO, with their partner and retired sled dog.
